what's new

Welcome to my spayce

Spayce is web and print designer Alison Harrison. I've been working in the design industry since 1991 when I declined an appealing offer to join the army full time and picked up a rotring pen instead. Since then I've worked in print, design, advertising and new media without pause*.

I don't believe that good design is about looking pretty. It's about communication, strategy, seamless functionality and visual appeal. Put those together in the right proportions, and you'll win your customers loyalty.

Please take a moment to browse my portfolio, or read about me to find out how I work and what I can do for you. Please feel free to contact me at any time for a quote or discussion about your needs.

Newsflash

Over the past 24 hours, the server on which my site lives was taken offline to fix a security issue. That left me without email for that period too. If you have sent me an email and you haven't received a reply (or if it bounced back), please do resend it just in case.

Also...

I've recently changed my email address to prevent spam. If you're using an email address with alison.harrison in it, change that to just alison - and it's .com, not .net.

Pay up or put up Oskar Keysell

As a small business it's one of the dangers of trading, and it's also a very good reminder that I should probably demand a payment up front for work. That's something I rarely do as I like to engender a trusting relationship with my clients.

The client in question is called "Elixirnews" and the work that I did for them included a CSS overhaul of their existing site, with some contracted programmer work to update the shabby code that they owned. The codework was done by a programmer, so it's even more galling to have this work unpaid for, since I've had to pay the programmer out of my own funds.
